Tamara Regensburger, described as "luxuriant of voice and radiant of visage" (Boston Globe), is an accomplished spinto soprano with an exceptionally warm timbre and an innate sense of musicality. With her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University and her Masters of Music in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory, Ms. Regensburger has studied with such teachers as Andreas Poulimenos, Edward Zambara, Anna Gabrieli, and Loretta Robinson.

She was first recognized on the competition stage in 1999 by placing 2nd in the Jenny Lind Competition for Sopranos. In 2000 & 2001 she was selected as a semi-finalist in the New England region Metropolitan Opera Council auditions, performing at the renowned Jordan Hall in Boston. Additionally, she was a winner in the Shubert Opera Showcase Competition in New Haven, CT receiving the honor to perform with Metropolitan Opera bass, Paul Plishka.

A diverse singer she has handled roles spanning Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Octavia (The Coronation of Poppea), Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) and St. Therese I in the Boston premiere of Four Saints in Three Acts (Virgil Thompson). Making her Columbus, Ohio debut in spring 2005 with The Ohio State University Opernfest, she sang the role of the Marschallin in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier to rave reviews. Ms. Regensburger has also been an avid recitalist and oratorio singer, appearing last fall with the OSU Orchestra, where she sang Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder showing “remarkable maturity in her breathtaking performance” (Columbus Dispatch). In May 2006, she made her professional symphonic debut with The Springfield Symphony Orchestra as the featured soloist in the Poulenc Gloria under Peter Stafford Wilson, conductor. This performance was featured in an NPR broadcast in Dayton, Ohio in August 2006.

Ms. Regensburger resides in Columbus, Ohio where she operates a private voice studio and is currently working to complete her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice at The Ohio State University.
