College Expo

  • May 25 - 26, 2008 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge
  • Recruiting Fair
    Monday, May 26, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    Meet with more than 60 top music programs, their admission representatives and college faculty to help you find the program that fits you.
  • Masterclasses
    Sunday, May 25, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
    Monday, May 26, 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    Participate in masterclasses presented by premier faculty from participating College Expo schools. Students can volunteer to sing at the classes or they can meet with the schools during the Recruiting Fair to volunteer.

  • $25 entrance fee students that did not participate in the High School Competition.

    IMPORTANT: The Expo registration fee is waived for all Competition participants; participants DO NOT need to register for the Expo if they have already registered for the Competition.

    High School Competition
    • The First Round runs from November 1, 2007 through March 15, 2008, and will be held at universities throughout the nation (see locations below). The top three winners, plus other selected finalists, advance to the Second Round (singers are responsible for their own travel and hotel costs).
    • The Second Round will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. The competition will be held on the 2nd Floor in the Club Tower. Approximately 30 singers will advance from the Second Round to the Semifinal Round.
    • The Semifinal Round and the Final Round Concert will be held at the same location on Memorial Day–Monday, May 26.
    • Cash prizes, sponsored by the Intermezzo Foundation, include:
         $2,000 First Place
         $1,000 Second Place
         $750 Third Place
         $500 Fourth Place
         $250 Fifth Place
         Five $200 Classical Singer Awards.
    • Students can register for more than one location.
    • Refer to the Rules page and Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
    • One-time $60 registration fee (includes all rounds of the Competition, the College Expo and the Final Round Concert)

    High School Competition Final Round Concert

    High School Competition & College Expo '08 culminates with the Competition's Final Round Concert.
    • Monday, May 26, 2008 at 5 p.m. at the Brooklyn Marriott Grand Ballroom in New York City
    • 10 national finalists will each perform one selection of their choice.
    • Scholarships and cash prizes will be presented at the Awards Ceremony following the judges' deliberation time.
    • $10 for general public; Competition & Expo participants will each receive one free ticket.
