  • First Round
    • 36 First Round Locations
    • November 8, 2009 - March 27, 2010
    • Each singer sings one selection of his or her choice and judges ask to hear a portion of a second selection. View Guidelines & Rules.
    • Top 3 plus General Finalists--as many as 20 at more populated locations--advance to the Second Round.
    • University will provide an accompanist, but singers may bring their own.

  • Second Round
    • Saturday, May 29, 2010 in New York City at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
    • Each singer will perform one selection of his or her choice in its entirety.
    • The top 30-35 singers will advance to the Semifinal Round the next morning.
    • Participants are invited and encouraged to attend the College Expo recruiting fair and the High School Masterclasses presented by attending universities and conservatories. The schedule will be published in early 2010.

  • Semifinal Round
    • Sunday morning, May 30, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis.
    • Each singer will perform one seelction of his or her choice in its entirety.
    • The top 10 singers will then advance to the Final Round Concert that same day.

  • Final Round Concert
    • Sunday afternoon, May 30, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis.
    • More than $2,100,000 of Scholarship offers are available to Competition participants. The majority of these scholarships will be awarded after of the Final Round Concert, thought schools can offer scholarships at any point of the competition to any singer they want. All scholarships are given at the discretion of each specific school or program. View all scholarship opportunities.
    • Classical TV will cover and air the event on their internet channel later in June to a worldwide audience.
    • Cash prizes will be give to the top three national winners in totals of $1,500 for First Place, $1,000 for Second Place, and $750 for Third Place.

  • Singers will receive immediate written feedback at the end of each round of the Competition.
  • One-time $75 registration fee covers all rounds of the Competition. Singers are responsible for any other expenses.
