Alaskan soprano, Katherine Wells has most recently performed in University of Arizona Opera Theatre's production of L'Amico Fritz as Suzel and in John Rutter's Requiem with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Wells loves to bring charisma and passion to each of her performances. In addition to her appearance with TSO, she has also delighted audiences of the Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra in Handel's Messiah. Other favorite operatic roles include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) with the University of Arizona Opera Theatre, The Page (Rigoletto) with Anchorage Opera Company, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at California State University, Northridge.

A crowd favorite, Ms. Wells' exquisite voice has been described as “silver-toned” and “clear.” Katherine has been recognized several times in vocal competitions, including those hosted by the National Association of Teachers of Singing and by the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She is an alumni of Ann Baltz's OperaWorks program and the Bel Canto Institute. Recently, she received a nomination from the Philanthropic Educational Organization for a scholar award.

In addition to her passion for performing, Katherine is a diligent scholar of voice and will complete a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance from the University of Arizona in 2009. Ms. Wells also serves as the president of the University of Arizona Student Chapter of NATS. She studies voice with Professor Faye Robinson.

Ms. Wells resides in Phoenix, AZ where she continues to perform and maintains a voice studio.
