Known for her warm, rich mezzo-soprano voice and gracious performing style, Anne Elise Richie has distinguished herself as an opera singer, concert artist and devoted teacher.

A Metropolitan Opera District Winner, Ms. Richie has toured Italy, France and Germany in addition to her many performances in the United States. Fine intonation and committed character portrayal are hallmarks of her performances. She has appeared in a wealth of diverse operas and theatrical productions including Madama Butterfly, Hansel and Gretel, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, The Pirates of Penzance and 1776. In addition to appearing as a soloist with the Birmingham Symphony Mozart Celebration, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Milwaukee Catholic Symphony Orchestra, University of Chicago Orchestra and Winston-Salem/Piedmont Triad Orchestra, Ms. Richie sang for four seasons with the New York City Opera Chorus and Opera Orchestra of New York.

Ms. Richie received her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Masters in Opera Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She is nearing the completion of her doctoral degree in Vocal Performance with an emphasis on Vocal Pedagogy from Florida State University.

In December 2004 Ms. Richie moved to Jacksonville, Florida to serve as the Visiting Professor of Voice at the University of North Florida. There she taught a talented array of undergraduate classical and jazz vocal majors. Ms. Richie has also several as an adjunct professor at New Jersey City University, Wagner College and Bergen Community College.

From August 2005 to May 2007 Ms. Richie was the Head of Vocal Studies at the prestigious Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, one of the top 25 performing arts high schools in the United States. In addition to teaching Vocal Technique courses, Ms. Richie was director of the Show Choir.

Through her private voice studio Ms. Richie instructs aspiring young artists and avocational singers throughout North East Florida. Her traditional "bel canto" approach leads to free, healthy singing. The health and preservation of the professional singing voice is a key focus of Ms. Richie's teaching approach.

Her professional memberships include the American Guild of Musical Artists, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Florida Vocal Association and Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity.
