As a new member of the Pacific Mozart Ensemble, Ms. Mikheyenko had the opportunity to perform with Meredith Monk in the world premiere performance of Monk's newly commissioned work, Songs of Ascension, which she created in collaboration with visual artist Ann Hamilton. Following one public performance as part of the Stanford Lively Arts series, this work was performed at the private, art-filled Steve Oliver Ranch in Geyserville, presented inside the astonishing acoustic Tower that Hamilton unveiled there last year. A site-specific musical and theatrical experience, Songs of Ascension was performed at dusk in natural light, and was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
