The testimonials below were written by Deborah's students in genres ranging from musical theatre, cabaret to classical. Deborah's contribution and strengths have been shown through some of the successful achievements of her students. Both Erin Elle East and Genevieve Perrino graduated from college last year and have gotten significant work in the Chicago theatre world. Erin was cast as Diana Morales in "A Chorus Line," Mimi in "RENT," Chiffon in "Little Shop of Horrors" and most recently Dynamite in "Hairspray." Genevieve was a member of the ensemble in the 2010 Drury Lane production of "Ragtime." Danny Spagnuolo has studied with Deborah for 2 years and in the past year he's performed in Light Opera Works productions of "Pirates of Penzance" and "Carousel." As an ensemble member he has also worked with Chamber Opera Chicago in their production of "Mario La O" and "Pride and Prejudice." Elizabeth Lanza, a former student of Deborah's, was nominated for a Jeff Award in 2008.
Several other students note the positive influence she has had on their singing success including the prominent choral director Richard Webster, conductor of the Bach Festival in Evanston.
"Before I began lessons with Deborah, I would categorize myself as an alto who seriously struggled with transitioning from my lower to higher registers. But after only a few sessions, Deborah helped me discover the full potential of my voice and I am now a mezzo soprano with a voice ranging from a low E flat to a high C! Deborah's abilities are uttely miraculous. She knows exactly how to translate any technical note into something each of her students can personally understand and relate to. And on top of that, Deborah is the most nurturing, sweet and fun voice teacher I've ever had! We get loads of work done and we have tons of laughs along the way!" Brittany Langmeyer
"Ms. Bulgrin's approach to the technical aspects of the human voice are kinesthetically motivated. It is her understanding of the Bel Canto tradition and other forms of vocal expression that make her a true vocal pedagogue." George Neely, Classical Singer
"My vocal studies with Deborah Bulgrin have revolutionized my approach to working with choirs. Deborah was able to teach me about breathing, posture, placement, resonance and proper vowel shapes. My choirs sing with more resonance and tuning issues seem to evaporate. I owe Deborah my profound gratitude."

"Over the last year of studying with Deborah, I have made incredible progress. Having studied for nearly 16 years, my time spent in Deborah's studio has been the most enriching thus far. I have seen the greatest growth in my upper register. Being a Tenor, this has opened up a whole new world of repertoire for me. My ability to sustain a high tessitura has greatly improved as well. I attribute this growth to her solid understanding of legato singing, pure vowels, and concentration on breath control and support. I am delighted with the progress I have made. Studying with, and getting to know Deborah has been a true joy. She has greatly improved my abilities and confidence." John Gorman, Classical Tenor, Chicago, IL
"Deborah Bulgrin has had a very positive influence on our students. She not only prepared them for vocal contests and recitals but she also showed a sincere concern for each person, working to instill in them such attributes as responsibility and respect." David J.
