Email: bouldersingingteacher@hotmail.comBiography Coloratura Soprano, Voice Teacher and Coach from 1991 to the Present. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Concordia University in Montreal, Amelia continued her education at Concordia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music, specializing in Vocal Interpretation. During this time, she was honored with extracurricular work with the Concordia University Orchestra, performing Mozart's Motet Exultate, Jubilate, and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. She also won her first leading role in Carissimi's Jephte, and worked independently on both Aaron Copland's 12 Emily Dickinson Poems, and Ned Rorem's Nantucket Songs, which were performed at the end of her degree. She continued her training at l'Université de Montréal, auditioning for and winning the lead roles in Carlyle Floyd's Susannah and Stravinsky's Le Rossignol. She began teaching in 1991 while working toward her BFA, and has taught continually since then. Obviously, with the incredible technical and musical background given to her by Adrienne Savoie, students are able to improve rapidly in any genre without any strain on the voice. She currently has a vocal studio in Boulder, Colorado, and sings with the Rocky Mountain Chorale. She recently branched out again into performing and is available for hire for weddings, operas, recitals and special events. She has been fortunate to study with three extraordinary voice coaches: Huguette Tourangeau, who was Joan Sutherland's mezzo-soprano for 14 years, introduced her to opera and taught her from 1986 1991. Valerie Kinslow, renowned in the Canadian musical circles for being a vocal expert in Baroque repertoire, and is a highly respected teacher at McGill University, Concordia University and L'Université de Montréal, from 1991-1996. Adrienne Savoie, an outstanding soprano with a flourishing career, also highly respected as a voice teacher at L'Université de Montréal and the Montreal Conservatoire, who taught an extremely effective vocal technique that enables the student to sing anything he or she wishes.Amelia studied with Adrienne from 1996-2002.
