Tamara Bevard
Soprano

With a voice described as "pearly-toned", soprano Tamara Bevard brings a wealth of experience to her performances as a soloist in both concert and in opera. She has sung with several local opera companies including Opera Santa Barbara and Pacific Repertory Opera, but her true love is oratorio work.

As a soloist, she has performed with organizations such as the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Musica Angelica, the Santa Barbara Symphony, the Illinois Chamber Symphony, and the Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra in works such as Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Bach's Magnificat and Christmas Cantata, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Faure's Requiem. She has toured Vienna, Budapest, and Prague in both Mozart's Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, and in 2007 she performed Haydn's Theresienmesse in Rome and Florence with Nova Amadeus Orchestra and in Munich with the Seuddeutsche Kammer Philharmonie. As a featured soloist at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, she has performed Haydn's Mass in Time of War with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the soprano solos in Handel's Messiah.

Upcoming solo engagements include Bach's St. Matthew Passion with Musica Angelica and the LA Master Chorale in March 2010 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony at the newly renovated Granada Theater in Santa Barbara with the Santa Barbara Chorale Society and Orchestra in May 2010. This August, she will sing the soprano solos in both the Verdi Requiem and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Junge Kammerphilharmonie Freiburg during their North America tour. Performances will be in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas as well as Honolulu, Hawaii.

She continues to add opera and light opera roles to her resume, and she has performed numerous recitals and benefit concerts throughout central and southern California. Ms. Bevard has an expanding studio of private voice students in Los Angeles, her current home.
