Soprano Maryann Mootos has an outstanding voice, capable of both power and beauty. It is easy to favorably compare her talent and technique to many artists of the golden age of opera. Musically intelligent with good dramatic instincts, this artist makes a strong impression on stage.
Her flexible and versatile soprano spans many roles, including, Micaela, Donna Anna, Marguerite, Tosca, Mimi, Cio-Cio San, Nedda, Tatyana, Violetta, Suor Angelica, and Rosalinda, among others. Ms. Mootos’ credits include appearances with many opera companies throughout the U.S.
Ms. Mootos performed as a Finalist in the 2012 Nico Castel International Master Singer Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She also received the Marquis Award in the Emerging Professional Division of the 2006 Classical Singer AudComps Competition. In 2005, she studied and performed abroad in Spoleto, Italy with the Spoleto Arts Symposia.
Ms. Mootos will perform the role of Giorgetta in Il Tabarro with Miami Lyric Opera in July 2013.
