A fresh voice in classical music, Elena McEntire is critically praised for powerful performances on the concert and opera stage, across diverse repertoire, from baroque through contemporary music.

Elena McEntire's opera performances span from Mozart's Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) and Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) to Bizet's Carmen, for which Elena is praised for a “full and deep understanding" , a "smokey, sultry interpretation", "an appealing, dusky sound that was smooth from the bottom to its powerful top" and a “flexible instrument that responds to every small detail of the role.” Elena has performed throughout the United States and Europe in roles ranging from Handel's Xerse and Sesto (Giulio Cesare) to Gluck's Orfeo and Bellini's Adalgisa (Norma). Elena enjoyed an award-winning run in the cast of Baz Luhrmann's Broadway Production of Puccini’s La Boheme and portrayed Georgette in a German touring production of Rolf Liebermann’s Die Schule der Frauen. She has collaborated in premieres of Ned Rorem’s Our Town at the Aspen Music Festival and Libby Larsen’s scena Mary Cassatt. Recent engagements include Carmen, Der Komponist in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos and Erika in Barber's Vanessa with One World Symphony, and Madame de la Haltiere (alternate for Joyce Castle) in Massenet's Cendrillon at the New York City Opera.

A compelling concert artist and recitalist, Elena has performed works spanning from Handel's Israel in Egypt, Saul and Messiah, "performed flawlessly", to Brahms’s Alto Rhapsody, Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Mendelssohn's rarely performed Infelice as well as several concert performances of Rossini arias. She has been a featured soloist for the San Francisco Song Festival where she performed a tribute to Kirke Mechem and the "exquisite premiere" of songs on the poetry of Pablo Neruda by Arturo Rodriguez with the composer at the piano, hailed as “one of the most magical performances in the history of the San Francisco Song Festival”. She has appeared with the Vratza State Philharmonic (Bulgaria), Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg, Aspen Music Festival, Princeton Pro Music, New Jersey Concert Opera, and New York's One World Symphony. Elena also joined world-renowned artists including Charles Neidich, Charles Wadsworth, the Eroica Trio, Mark O'Connor, Imani Winds, Steven Bailey, Frederica von Stade, Thomas Moser, Paula Robison, Romero Lubambo and Cyro Baptista, and the Peabody Trio at San Francisco's Herbst Theater and New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center.
