Parker Burton III, Countertenor, is a welcoming addition to the growing numbers of fine countertenors, with a voice of exceptional range and power. Opera roles have included, Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) with New Jersey Concert Opera and Stony Hill Players; Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera) opera scenes with Harlem Opera Theater; 1st Spirit (The Magic Flute) with New Jersey Concert Opera; Siebel, (Faust) opera scenes with Harlem Opera Theater; Shepard Boy (Tosca) with New Jersey Concert Opera; and Witch 1 (Dido and Aeneas) with New York Chamber Opera.Oratorio credits include Solomon (Handel’s Solomon) with Concordia Chorale; The Angel (Elijah) with Asbury United Methodist Church; Mezzo Soloist (Bach Magnificat) with New Jersey Concert Opera and Mezzo Soloist (Handel’s Messiah) with New Jersey Concert Opera. Other concerts, recitals and engagements include performances with Musicae Reginae, The Riverside Church of New York, The Atlanta Opera Chorus, Shaker Mountain Opera Festival, Georgia State University Opera Workshop and the Americolor Opera Alliance. While embarking on a career of the operatic and recital stage, Parker has had the pleasure to work with esteemed conductors and voices teachers such as Lucy Arner, William Fred Scott, Steven Jarvi, Steven Crawford, Elaine Rinaldi, John Balme, Daniel Gundlach, Brian Asawa, Dodi Protero, Alteouise de Vaughn and Drew Minter to name a few. Mr. Burton is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and presently resides in New York City. |
