Welcome to the home page of Bass-Baritone Jay Gould. An accomplished opera, oratorio and concert soloist, Mr. Gould has performed in Carnegie Hall (Debut - Mrs. H.H.A. Beach Mass; also Soloist - Beethoven 9th Symphony, Japan 9th Symphony Society) and Avery Fisher Hall (Masterwork Singers, Bass Soloist MESSIAH).

Mr. Gould's operatic roles performed with full orchestra include Renato in UN BALLO IN MASCHERA, Amonasro in AIDA, Sharpless in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, Enrico in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, Tonio in I PAGLIACCI, Alfio in CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA, and Oreveso in NORMA, appearing with such companies as Brooklyn Lyric Opera, Brooklyn Opera Society, and New Rochelle Opera.

Mr. Gould also won critical acclaim as Tony in MOST HAPPY FELLA with the New Players of Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Most recent appearances include Dr. Frodhi in Sam Belich's THE EGLANTINE, the Grand Inquisitor in DON CARLO, Sarastro in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and Marcello in LA BOHÉME at Queens College (June 8, 2006); two performances as the title character in Verdi's FALSTAFF with Martina Arroyo's Prelude to Performance program (full performance in concert July 8, 2006; Act 2 fully staged with orchestra as part of an Evening of Acts on July 22. Both performances were conducted by Willie Anthony Waters and directed by Ellen Rievman.)

Mr. Gould is currently studying and coaching with renowned Metropolitan Opera soprano Atarah Hazzan.
