Airport Connections with Taylor Hillary Boykins

Mezzo-soprano Taylor Hillary Boykins
Baltimore-based mezzo-soprano and emerging artist Taylor Hillary Boykins recently landed an amazing gig through a chance encounter at an airport. This month she shares with us how a random conversation can lead to an exquisite experience!

Where did you last sing and get paid?
I presented a concert entitled “An Evening of Opera: An Exquisite Experience of Opera, Art, Song, Dance, and Black History.” The idea was to give audience members an opportunity to learn about the history of black opera singers, to learn which rappers and hip-hop stars today were classically trained, and to gain insight about the journey of becoming an opera singer.

Where and when was the gig, and how long did it last?
