** WHERE'S CHARLEY? **

This delightful Broadway revival (based on the play Charlie's Aunt by Brandon Thomas) with 42nd Street Moon
enjoyed a hugely successful run at the Eureka Theatre, and marked Ms. Mikheyenko's debut with the company.

"A special shout-out...to Noelani Neal, Katherine Leyva, and Maria Mikheyenko, who trio together in “The Gossips” as three ingénues who take time from dressing for the evening’s ball to spill the beans to each other on what they know (or think they know) about the goings-on around them. In exaggerated movements and antics, each gets a turn to sing forth the secrets she has acquired (of course, only after saying she cannot in any way share them)." - Theatre Eddys

The Lariat, a dark comic opera by Bay Area composer Lisa Scola Prosek, based on the 1927 novella by the poet and anthropologist Jaime de Angulo, had a successful world premiere at San Francisco's Thick House in January 2015.

Here's what the San Francisco Chronicle had to say:
"...the piece’s most inventive and arresting passages are for two pairs of animals — a couple of taut, hyper-alert bluebirds and the two smugly chirruping crickets... the music is evocative, and the singing of Maria Mikheyenko... appealing..." -- Joshua Kosman

** COLLABORATION WITH MEREDITH MONK **
As a member of the Grammy-nominated chorus Pacific Edge Voices, Maria has had the opportunity to perform with Meredith Monk in the world premiere performance of her newly commissioned work, Songs of Ascension, which she created in collaboration with visual artist Ann Hamilton. Following one public performance as part of the Stanford Lively Arts series, this work was performed at the private, art-filled Oliver Ranch in Geyserville, presented inside the astonishing acoustic Tower that Hamilton unveiled. A site-specific musical and theatrical experience, Songs of Ascension was performed at dusk in natural light, and was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
