a pre-Broadway World Premiere

Maria is thrilled and honored to have played the role of Francesca (the Housekeeper of San Salvatore) in Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre's world premiere of a new musical by award-winning lyricist Charles Leipart and composer Richard B. Evans.

The story is based on the 1922 novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, which has also been produced as a Tony Award nominee for Best Play on Broadway and made into an Oscar-nominated film.

Directed by Broadway veteran Lois Grandi, this production of four British women who escape the confines of their post-Victorian, 1920s-London lifestyles to lounge, linger and fall in love with life's beauty while spending a month's holiday at a castle in Portofino, Italy was a hit with audiences.

"I only have one quibble — and it’s not with production or cast. It’s that this show should be seen more than once to fully appreciate the wit, humor, and sophisticated jazzy sound." - Katie Watts (Argus-Courier)

a new musical cast album

This new musical by beloved singer/songwriter Vienna Teng and award-winning playwright Tanya Shaffer re-imagines the Buddha legend in a contemporary setting, with a female “awakened one” with a hidden past. Epic and intimate, comic and profound, it explores what it means to be both enlightened and flawed. The upcoming album of songs from The Fourth Messenger stars Vienna Teng alongside a supporting cast of twenty spectacular singers and a chamber band. Available for pre-order as CD or digital download; the complete script is also available for pre-order in PDF or book form.
